About the opportunity:

The Market Insights Manager will be responsible for coordinating the strategic commercialization of insights and recommendations generated by the consumer insights and category management team against; leveraging all major category action platforms and with all retail Customers. The primary focus will be to translate these insights into compelling sell-in strategies for our customers, driving mutual revenue and profit growth and enhancing our market position.


The attributes we are looking for:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Consumer Insights, Category Management, Trade Marketing, and Trade Marketing to ensure a unified approach to category commercialization with our customers
  • Present key insights related to the overall dairy/deli segment to senior leaders at customer top-to-tops.
  • Key spokesperson for our overall vision for the dairy space - leveraging and synthesizing all of our rich insights from our various dairy categories.

Monetize our Collective Insights:

  • Transform category insights and recommendations into actionable strategies for selling to customers.
  • Develop comprehensive plans to effectively communicate the value proposition of category recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • As it relates to Fiscal Planning, establish/prioritize an overarching agenda for the collective Sales Team to action against

Elevate Customer Data Analysis into Mutual Commercialization:

  • Lead and shape the prioritization of work from our Data Science Centre of Excellence that will harness customer POS and supply chain data to package fresh insights and recommendations to our Sales team for commercialization with our customers.

Lead the Standardization of Sales Reporting:

  • Lead the creation of one Lactalis reports for the consumption by sales, by account, by category.
  • Leverage customer POS data to deliver fresh data at every meeting

Sales Customization (create a Sales culture relentlessly focused on bringing new insights to our customer and their consumers)

  • Customizes category-selling stories and add relevancy for retailer-specific opportunities
  • Leverage learnings from cross-functional counterparts (e.g. Category Development, Consumer Insight, Trade Marketing, Planning, etc.) to deliver impactful recommendations to the Sales team;
  • Establish a desirable cadence of consistent insight sharing with our customers

Lead, Nuture, and Bolster our Total Dairy Vision :

  • Sourcing best-in-class and Global learning for the retailer to ensure leading-edge category thinking. We are the world's largest dairy player and need to leverage this to show customers the future of dairy.
  • Leverage category-specific insights to develop, shape, and lead the Dairy category into the future for our Customers, for us, and most importantly, for the consumers.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and development programs for the sales team to enhance their understanding of category strategies and effectively communicate them to customers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning within the category management team
  • Lead and manage data analytics team by hiring, reviewing performance, and providing feedback, determining training and development needs, establishing goals and priorities, and providing work direction.


What you will bring:

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field is required
  • Minimum 8-10 years relevant CPG industry experience
  • CPG experience in category management
  • Leading or exposure to Consumer/Shopper Insights desired
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to generate insights and convert to action.
  • Shopper focused, creative thinker with ability to present and persuade others to act
  • Experience presenting to senior level executives internally and externally (i.e SVPs and above)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Expert knowledge of Nielsen and Retailer data platforms.
  • Superior project management and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of space planning software
  • Able to manage multiple and competing priorities through effective organizational, people, time management skills
